Qualifications & Experience

I trained in Transpersonal and Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling at the Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy Education. I worked in the NHS for three years and have been in private practice for seven years. I have facilitated workshops for both individuals and companies on a wide range of areas, from stress and anxiety to inner child work.

I have regular clinical supervision and continuing professional education, and adhere both to the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Code of Ethics. I am registered with the UKCP and a member of the BACP.

I also hold the following qualifications:

  • Diploma in Adult Psychotherapy and Counselling
  • BSc (Hons) in Psychology
  • BSc (Hons) in Human Biology.

Before I worked as a psychotherapist, I was an investigative journalist and senior producer working at the BBC and ITV on programmes such as Panorama, World In Action and Tonight With Trevor. I also work as a senior media counsel advising companies and charities on both internal and external communications. I believe that all of my past and present work experiences have gifted me with a broader perspective and insight into the human condition, which lends itself tremendously to the work I do.

I practice both Counselling and Psychotherapy,
what's the difference between them?

Counselling
is usually shorter-term work and is structured towards a particular focus or goal. It often addresses something that’s currently affecting you.

Psychotherapy
is deeper, longer-term work that seeks to uncover the roots and causes of issues, emotions and patterns of behaviour that lead to distress in life.
